Winter vs. All-Season Tires: What’s Best for Your Car? 

Winter is fast approaching and you may be wondering if you should change your tires with the season. Do you need winter tires to safely navigate the snow and ice, or can your all-season tires get the job done? Winter Tires

Winter tires have wider grooves between tread blocks, are made from a special rubber compound, and feature more siping, which are small slits added to improve traction, compared to all-season tires. You will want to swap out your winter tires when the warm weather returns, but if you want better traction in icy conditions, winter tires are the way to go. 

All-Season Tires 

All-season tires are just what the name says. They can be used all year without adverse effects to the tires or vehicle, so no need to change tires with the weather. Pros of all-season tires include better noise levels and comfort while driving. All-season tires provide traction in mild winter conditions, but if you are planning to spend time driving in heavy snow and ice, they may not provide the performance you need.
