Tire Source Partners with Akron Zips for Turnover Tire Initiative

We are excited to announce that Tire Source is partnering with Akron Zips for the first ever Turnover Tire initiative!

In 2023, the Akron Zips received national coverage when the game went into turnover. Turnover is when a team loses possession of the ball due to a fumble, or an interception.

Usually when turnover occurs, a chain is given to the player that made the play, however, the Akron Zips did something unheard of. One player put a tire over their head causing many news outlets such as ESPN, The MAC Conference, Barstool Sports News and more to cover the story. Watch the sensation happen here.

Turnover Tire became an instant success, and we are pleased to be the 2024 partner.

Let’s Go into Turnover!

All season long our brand will receive an in-game videoboard logo recognition and PA reads every time the Zips go into turnover. The best part? We are providing one lucky section with a free oil change or a discount on tires when a turnover happens.

Tire Source Race

Two lucky fans will be randomly selected during each Akron U game and compete head-to-head in the first-ever Tire Source Tire Race! Who can roll a Tire Source tire to the 40-yard line? We’ll find out at the first game: Zips vs. Ohio State. Tune in to see the victory!
